Is CoSA Lab professional advice?

No. CoSA Lab publishes general information about security for small businesses. CoSA Lab is not a security firm, and the content is not professional advice for your particular systems. For advice on a specific system or incident, talk to a qualified professional.

Who is responsible for changes you make?

You are. Before you change a live website, server or account, back it up and, where you can, test the change on a copy first. Only test systems you own or have written permission to test.

How accurate is the content?

We source our guides carefully, as the editorial policy describes, but security advice changes quickly and we can't promise every page is complete or current. Check the updated date on each page.

Can you reuse CoSA Lab content?

You may quote short passages with credit to CoSA Lab and a link back to the original page. Please don't republish whole pages, translate them or use them in paid products without written permission, which you can ask for through the contact form.

CoSA Lab links to vendor documentation, reports and other sites as sources. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content.

What is CoSA Lab liable for?

To the extent the law allows, CoSA Lab is not liable for any loss or damage that comes from using the site or acting on its content. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that can't be excluded. These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.

Will these terms change?

If these terms change, we update them here and change the date at the top of the page.
